EPIC VINYL TILE FAIL

The plan was so optimistic and so simple.  All I wanted was to add a little quirk to our downstairs Lavvie.  So I ordered some French vinyl tiles, became very excited about them and then ... they failed :(.  At first I blamed the builder, but then we had a proper floor fitter come in and ... well ... you can see for yourself:

Even from a distance they look like a car crash.  The issue with them?  They were no where near sticky enough and curled up within seconds of being placed.  It turned out that our room wasn't straight so the wonkiness is our fault, but, equally, they didn't exactly line up which meant the patterns were often blurred.  The darker smudges at the corner are the fitter's adhesive - he needed that much to keep them flat that it all squidged up and over.

Oh man. I mean. It's just a disaster.  So we've got plain white lino bought from Carpetright for £20 and it's going to be laid asap. Boo.
